Cup Cakes are delicious and here is my recipe for Double Chocolate Cup Cakes, make them, share them, eat them but most of all enjoy them!

Double Chocolate Cupcakes

 

Double Chocolate Cup Cakes you will need

I use my basic cup cake recipe for my double chocolate cup cakes . . . you will need

  • 8oz / 225g Self Raising Flour
  • 6oz / 170g Butter
  • 6oz / 170g Caster Sugar
  • 3- 4 Free Range Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

For Double Chocolate Cup Cakes just add

  • 2 table spoons Coco Powder
  • 50g of Chocolate Chopped ( or use chocolate chips)
  1. Into a bowl sift your flour and coco powder, add the butter you can either use your fingers to rub the butter flour and coco powder together or use a mixer
  2. Add in the sugar, followed by the eggs and then mix in the chocolate chips
  3. 1/2 fill your cup cake cases and place in a warm oven 180 deg C, 350 deg F, gas mark 4 for approx 15 minutes, when ready remove and leave to cool

To make the chocolate decoration

Melt 100g of dark chocolate, when melted take a spoonful of chocolate and drizzle over a peice of greaseproof paper, allow to set and then break bits off as required, place on iced cup cakes

To make the icing

  • 3.5 oz / 100g Dark Chocolate
  • 1oz / 25g Butter
  • Melt the chocolate, when fully melted mix in the butter, you should have a mix that will pour
  • Pour over each of your cup cakes filling up to the top of the cases
  • Add your chocolate decoration
